You really can't beat this view on your way home from the grocery store "en velo!" This is my life in Cadrieu. Don't get me wrong, having rides in with friends in the car is wonderful and I'm always so grateful! But, it's different. We're talking. We're at a different level. There's a barrier between us and nature. It's the same on the bus, except you're just up a little higher.
I think early and often is going to be my mantra for the summer...beat the crowds, beat the heat, and enjoy the beautiful and pastoral countryside up close and personal on my bike on my own.
Trust me, I know I am living THE life!
I sent this photo on the left above in a text to my sister and her husband on Saturday. He was excited about the wine and she was excited about the baguette. That was long before they saw the pictures of the pastries!
There's always going to be something about a baguette poking out of a backpack. It's just even better when it's MY backpack!
I'm writing later than usual. I got out early to continue with the rose garden and the terrace flower box, so instead of coffee and pastries, it's cubi red wine, cheese, baguette, pear and jam! Oops, can't forget my favorite Danois salami.
Those of you who know me and know me well, know that I can live on swiss cheese (emmental here) and salami!
I may be so full (and just a bit tipsy) that there won't be any need for dinner! Unless of course, it could be an occasion for a Thiriet special batonette of vanilla ice cream, covered in hard dark chocolate, caramel and hard milk chocolate!
Happy Monday!
