Last Sunday, I mentioned that my visit to Roux's Patisserie was my first since I had returned a year ago.
This Sunday was another one of "those" days for me! While I'd been in to Escrozailles once since my return, my favorite butcher had not been there. In fact, from my bike I could often see he wasn't working.
Then, when I started getting a ride in I tried to limit my number of stops and bought everything I could at the Intermarche.
I finished up at the Petit Casino this morning with a new bottle of Cahors, different than my usual. I was ready to head home, but decided to walk by the butcher and there he was. Once he waved, I had to stop.
There were only two people ahead of me, so I parked the bike with 3 milks and a bottle of wine in my basket and went on in. (Yes, the wine was still there when I returned.) The first woman was quick, the second woman took forever. The problem seemed to be the amount she bought and the confusion that the young woman at the check out was having. It seemed to go on forever-even after Philippe waited on me. I was happy to see he was well and I was able to tell him that I got my Titre de Sejour and was good for ten years.
I finally got to come home with my demi-kilo of steak hache and 3 escalopes de poulet (ground beef and chicken breasts). He always asks if I want them split, but not today!
It was wonderful to reconnect.
I passed by all the patisseries and headed on home-breathing free and out from under my very sweaty mask.
A little different day with no pastry pit-stops!
Happy Sunday!
