Yesterday I headed out on my bike for a ride along the farmers/river road to see what I could see.
Remembering the water lilies from a previous ride, I made sure to bring my phone along.
I'm glad I did. I found this stone in the photo above and a launching point that I hadn't noticed before.
It was fun to sit and ponder "the meaning of life," ha-ha!
The tractors have been out and working on both sides of the river at all times of the day and night. I sat down on the stone on the right and took a few shots. Getting ready to head back up the road toward home to get a few more water lily shots, I heard a small motor boat coming.
They were going along pretty well and were soon a bit out of my sight, but not earshot.
That's when I heard that crunch crunch crunch.
They chose not to go through the lock and had hit the old Roman Road just below the surface of the water.
Ah, the metaphors.
I couldn't help but think that here we all are, just going along in our lives thinking all is fine and out of nowhere the crunch crunch comes!
I watched them pull over to the side, check out the boat, resituate, and get back on their trip.
Back on my bike, I headed toward the water lilies and home!
I never know what profound messages I may find on any one of my bike rides, if I'm just paying attention.
Happy Wednesday!
