...for a walk in front of the Chatette on the Route de la Vallee, to the road that takes us down to the boat slip on the river that is easily seen from both stories of the Chatette.
Friday evening, I heard a lot of activity and went upstairs to see better.
I found Xavier manning the heavy machinery with some supervision and direction from Daniel. They were unearthing the beautiful stone that is covered up with years of soil, silt and river sediment from all the flooding and natural run-off.
As I've mentioned before, there are plans for a walking path along the Lot River that will take you up past the Chateau where the lavoir project will also be undertaken.
These projects are all near and dear to my heart.
Saturday, I went down to see what I could see!
I discovered that there is even more stone under all that soil and sediment than I knew or even remembered.
The dappled sunlight shows the stone off nicely on the walls and the floor.
It appears that there is stone lining both sides and the floor of the boat slip leading you on down to the river.
The guys were back for a bit late yesterday afternoon and this morning the equipment is gone. Might be time for another trip down or just a gander over the wall to look down at any other progress.
I'm so excited. I'll keep you posted.
Happy Sunday!
