To get the full effect of the progress that has been made down by the river, you must go back a couple of posts to compare.
When I looked down again after my Saturday visit, I could see that the stone at the mouth of the river had been uncovered up about 3-4 meters. I couldn't resist going down and getting some more shots. The sides had been unearthed too, but were still damp and muddy.
I found out the hard way.
Second step on the uncovered stone and on to my third, I began to slip and slide.
I was able to catch myself with some gyrations and then ended up on all fours crab-walking back to the "safe soil!"
In the meantime, Xavier was returning to continue. It was still dark and I think I scared him a bit as he got out of the truck.
I headed back home and soon the rain began. He kept on working, and pretty soon he was almost up to the wall with the uncovered stone and the sides and canal were looking great too.
The transformation has been gorgeous and incredible to me.
Back when I bought the Chatette during 2002, I was told that the landing came with my house and belonged to me and that the lavoir belonged to the commune.
I asked why the landing wasn't listed on my purchase agreement?
The notaire at the time advised against it for "liability" reasons, since the stone path down to the landing was "public!"
At that time you were able to see the stone path down to the river, but that was about it. I had visions, but set them aside.
Now, it feels as if some of those visions and more are coming true with these new village projects.
I'll keep you posted!
I'm excited.
Happy Thursday!
