Walking around the garden with Mom yesterday, she pointed out these flowers. I never would have seen them. They are green. They look like leaves to me. But, I'm happy to know that they are flowers. Discovering a green flower in the garden of my life doesn't throw everything off track. It is a fact. I now know that there are green flowers in the world.
Some facts are easier to accept than others, especially as we get older. For my parents, moving to assisted living in February meant facing many new facts. Ah, that they were as easy to accept as discovering green flowers in the world. We aren't there yet, but we hope we will be soon. Happy Mother's Day Mom-thanks for showing me that there can be green flowers in the world.
