Graffiti can sometimes be profound. Back in the late 70's when I had first moved to New Orleans to go to graduate school, the restrooms at the Napoleon House were known to have some of the best graffiti in town..."Best" meaning, wise, intelligent, and often thought-provoking. To call it "alcohol induced" is probably and understatement, but it survived there for years and always seemed fresh and new with every trip. The year the bathrooms were renovated, many regulars mourned the passing of the graffiti as well.
I recently noticed, the graffiti has returned...some wise and some not so wise. It was fun to see some again and remember what is beginning to feel like "the good old days".
