There is something to be said about surrounding ourselves with what we need in the places where we live. After teaching my first class at Tulane yesterday, the Esplanade Bus was full going home so I sat in the back. Talking with other passengers-all bus riders like me-we talked about areas of the City and in Metairie where you could find everything you need close by. When you're on the bus or your bike, those places make life easier. Since the heat and humidity has reached the oppressive level here in New Orleans, my choice is bus over bike. As I watered close to sundown in the yard last night here on Columbus Street, I longed for a lavoir in my backyard like the one I have back home. SOAR to Success in SOCIAL WORK with me, Laury A.
