She sits on a steep hillside backed by a high cliff, facing more than century old tracks for trains that run no more. She never looks up. The dappled light dances in through the leaves of the leaning walnut tree; sprinkling kisses over her, the cliff, and the back of the barn. She looks down, her rose in her hand. She remembers...an old lover, a former home, places to rest, and maybe even those of us who have loved her? Or, just pondering and enjoying: the touch of the light, a gentle breeze, birdsong symphonies, falling walnut percussions, scampering red sqirrels, and sometime a wayward walker or two who comes to sit on a nearby bench. She is always patient.
