Waiting to teach one Tuesday night, I was up in the third floor lounge at the Tulane School of Social Work, looking out the window at more than the moon. The view is a pretty one. The sun sets and the moon rises nicely, across the grassy area and over the ancient oaks. Change has been on the wind. It's here. It is projected that the school will be moving downtown by fall 2014. The new location and facility appear to be excellent. For me, it is a better fit into my life all the way around. But, it is still bitter-sweet. I will miss this old gem of a building. It holds many memories for me, from my graduation in 1977 to my virgin teaching experiences earlier this year. We are moving on. Laury, where is the school moving downtown?

Hey Sam-it's on Elks Place, I believe it is the old Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital. I've seen the plans, and they are impressive. They're projecting fall 2014, which seems ambitious to me, but we shall see. Let me know if you want more information and I'll direct you to someone who is involved. Love, Laury
