I often say that "I am not a religious person." I know what that means for me, but I'm not sure I know what it means when I say it to others. I've never said: "I am an atheist", or "I am an agnostic". I've never felt the need to "self-identify" in those areas, in the same way that I would say: "I am a feminist," or, "I am a liberal." I'm not sure why. I've been exploring the why of it all more, since these issues come up in our diversity class. I do know that I feel reverence. I feel gratefulness. And, I pray. That may be just enough for me. SOAR to Success in SOCIAL WORK with me, Laury A.
