Waking up yesterday morning, I knew right away that something was different. First, I was cold. Second, when I walked through the other parts of the house, I wasn't smacked in the face with heat and humidity. I opened the back door, stepped out into the dark, and almost shouted "Hooray"-it was actually cool, comfortable and no humidity. I took my coffee outside, and, for the first time since my arrival; I sat and drank it out under the stars with Orion. I pondered home. I looked around. I propped up my feet. An air conditioner still rumbled next door, but it felt like I was in heaven. I felt my heart beat in my chest. I breathed for the first time since I left France, almost a year ago. I was a prisoner no more. SOAR to Success in SOCIAL WORK with me, Laury A.
