Slowing life down brings so many gifts. Walking over to Stew and Eric's yesterday afternoon, I was reminded how much I enjoyed walking up to the other side of the village to visit Jean. Some evenings I'd be going up for dinner, by foot or on my bike...always trying to beat the dark (and sometimes the rain) home. Because Cadrieu is a crescent city like New Orleans, it's sometimes easier to take a short cut or two. Even so, you have choices. The scenic path along the river is always beautiful, but best for long leisurely strolls with your favorite four-legged companion. The main road works just fine too, but some days in high season, the traffic and noise make you wish you'd taken another route. Then there's the artisan road, that takes you past a workshop with trucks, building materials, etc. We then have the cemetery road and the main village road that takes you up and around to the Mairie and back. Coming home from Jean's on foot on one such evening, I was on the artisan road trying to beat the setting sun. I turned around to check, but instead of walking on; I stopped instead. It was a golden end to a golden evening. Happy Sunday! SOAR to Success in SOCIAL WORK with me, Laury A.
