I've never been good at good-byes. Even in France, I'd make a point to say: "It's not au revoir, but a bientot y'all!" We'd laugh, wave and soon I'd be blowing big, expansive kisses on the platform in Cahors as the train lumbered out toward Paris. Sunday, Eric came over and we gave Niels and Bodil a ride to the Union Passenger Terminal to catch the City of New Orleans to Chicago. We didn't stay, but caught a few shots together while their luggage waited patiently on the curb. Hug hugs...kiss kisses...and back into our chariot, but there was just one thing. I turn around and there were Niels and Bodil standing at the window, huge smiles, waving, waving and waving up until we pulled off. We had to go. I turned to Eric with tears in my eyes. They were still there. We waved some more-blew kisses through the glass...and we were off. Pulling on to Earhardt I tried to see them, but I know...somewhere in the world we will be together again.
