It's wonderful being surrounded by creative people. It makes no difference where I am in the world; my friends wow me. Yesterday, it was Mike Edwards. He took CEU and turned it into something so creative, fun and appropriate for the workshops in France this summer, that I had to use it in today's heading: Culture-Education-Unwind. And yes, that's exactly what these summer workshops in France are all about.
Culture-Imagine three full days at the 13th century Chatette, in the shadow of the even older chateau. You're surrounded by French culture and history: the turn of the century railroad; the medieval lavoir, the barn, nearby gallo-roman ruins, and so much more nearby. I haven't even gotten to food and music yet.
Education-The brochure below outlines the specifics of the three-day workshop. You get a lot for your $500. Conference materials, continental breakfasts, snacks and lunches are included in the price of your 21 hours of CEU. These 21 hours have been pre-approved by the Tulane School of Social Work for 17 clinical hours and 4 hours of ethics. (You'll notice I highlighted the addition of the photography activities in red.) The first 5 people to register will receive a special journaling tool upon arrival. What a deal!
Unwind-Imagine waking up to a view of the Lot River right out your French Doored floor to ceiling windows. Behind you, birdsong accompanies the lavoir's tinkling water symphonies. If you're lucky, your presenter may be playing Moon River downstairs on Monsieur Winkelmann, but maybe a little less lucky while struggling to learn the Nat King Cole version of "It's Only a Paper Moon." The coffee will be making in the kitchen. Croissants, yogurt, jam, ham, cheese, and hard boiled eggs are artistically presented for you on the breakfast bar, with your conference materials for the day resting at your place on the table.
Have I tempted you? Won't you join me? I will share more photos and information over the next few days to delve deeper in the culture and the unwinding aspects. Check out the education, travel and accommodation pieces below.
