I've been sharing a lot here with you about the workshops that I'll be hosting in France in June. Yesterday evening, I finished up two days of workshops at the Tulane University School of Social Work that are identical to those that I'm offering at the end of June at the Chatette.
While the content is the same, there are obvious differences when you consider location, timing, participation, and support. The one thing that makes the biggest difference to me as a "presenter" is that here in New Orleans, Tulane supports me. I walk in and I present. I am blessed with staff support at all levels: promotion; packet development; registration, refreshments, facilities assistance, and certificates. There are two staff members, however, who just seem to be with me all the way: Bonnie Lister and Kathy Smith. Ah, that I could pack them away in my suitcase and have them there with me in France where I am a one person show. In France, I wear every hat: promoter, presenter, registrar, refreshment queen, secretary, and facilities supervisor.
Everyone knows that I'll be heading to France at the end of April via St. Louis. We joke all the time about ways in which we could get everyone there. You never know, some day we might come up with just the right combination. For now, the wheels are turning and I want to say a huge MERCI to all of my colleagues, but especially to Bonnie and Kathy! We all deserve a very nice Sunday of rest!
