I'm bursting with impatience! (lit: I boil with impatience!) What a perfect phrase a day in French from Living Language for me today!
Yesterday, I booked our train from the Gare d'Austerlitz in Paris to Cahors on May 2. I looked at the calendar. Yesterday gave Sammie cat and I exactly one month until our departure from St. Louis on April 30! We arrive in Paris on the morning of May 1, and will spend the night before we catch our train the following morning. This way, we arrive in Cahors around 3pm and can catch the country bus home.
It will still be light when we arrive. I'll be contacting friends who will get the utilities on for me in advance. I've learned over the years of my comings and goings at the Chatette; I am leaving and returning to my heart. Whenever I can, I leave alone and I arrive alone. I need that uninterrupted, no interference, reconnecting in peace that can only happen when it is me and my place. Not everyone gets it, but I'm very grateful when they do.
Although I really am boiling over with impatience, I know that the only way I will make it through all that has to be done over the next month is to take it a day at a time. Today, hotel reservation, rental car, and who knows? I have to keep telling myself: Laury, petit a petit, pas a pas...it will all come little by little, a step at a time!
