Walking up to the Peristyle on Sunday morning, I was about to rage a bit about the trash all over. From a distance, and in a hurry; it looked like some inconsiderate park patrons had left their crawfish shells in the middle.
Upon closer inspection, I found a nice surprise...rose petals. The Peristyle is often used and/or rented for special events and celebrations. What a location for a wedding, birthday, musical extravaganza, or any one of a number of other things to celebrate.
These rose petals appeared to be spelling "Happy" something. The wind had breezed through and dispersed many of the petals. I know I was HAPPIER to see something sweet, natural and easily dispersed on the wind, than the nasty (albeit it previously tasty) crawfish heads and other gooey innards that are the norm.
