Even though the new stained glass at St. Etienne in Cahors threw me for a loop, it didn't distract me to the point that I forgot to do my usual...light my candle in thanks to St. Therese of Lisieux. I continue to love her focus on gratefulness and the importance of the small things in life. I believe that the energy that stirs between us has brought me many wonderful things and experiences.
Getting my mail to the states can be interesting. I've realized through the years of living in France that each of my "poste-ing" options brings different results. I have four: Cajarc, Cahors, Figeac, and Cadrieu. Although Cahors and Figeac are larger cities, my mail seems to get to the states in the most timely manner from Cajarc.
I most often choose to walk my mail up to our post box in Cadrieu. It's right next to the Mairie. It gets picked up Monday through Friday around 10am, and then heads out from Cajarc. When Dali was with me, we passed by regularly on our walks. These days, I combine trips to the poubelle (trash) with my trips to the poste box.
Most trips into Cahors are quickies for me. I'm usually on a mission (or many missions) and I only have a couple hours to accomplish everything. That doesn't leave much time for leisurely strolls or exploring.
Monday was a different story, plus most of the shops I might have stopped in were closed. (Remember Laury-Fetes and Mondays!) After my stop at St. Etienne, I found myself down by the river. I'd forgotten you can actually walk most of the way along the river bank, so I did. It was fun, interesting, and held lots of views of Cahors that I don't usually get to see.
All along the Lot...up close, pretty and personal!
Out working in the garden again yesterday, I noticed an interesting effect near the spot from which I was working. I had no idea how these photos would turn out, and at first was disappointed. Looking at them a little more closely, they are more like paintings than photos. Can you guess where this is and how it was taken to give this effect? The last photo here should clue you in. Happy Sunday!
