...and more roses. What do you do with all those rose petals when they've fallen? They're still so pretty. Surely there must be something I can do with them.
During the summer of 2012, I was asking myself the same question. I discovered this wonderful rose petal/mint bath scrub on-line at www.onegoodthing.com and went to work.
One of the many wonderful things about these scrubs is how easy they are to make...one third solid coconut oil, one third rose petals/mint, one third sugar. Compress these ingredients into the container of your choice in that order, and then allow a carrier oil to soak the top layer of sugar. I use sunflower oil, but there are many other choices.
The most difficult part for me about this project is finding the containers that work best. Size-wise, I prefer glass yogurt jars. Then, I found these sweet sample Confiture Bonne Maman jars that are the perfect size for a one-shot sample.
I'm on my second round of rose petals since our return, and have just started using them in projects again. Based on the buds out there on every rose bush, I better get busy researching some other options for the number of rose petals I'm going to have at my disposal. Hmmm, I wonder what will be next!
