I love French Stamps. As I've written before, I often put extras on my mail to family and friends to the states because everyone else enjoys them so much too. The set of chocolate bar stamps that actually smelled like chocolate was a real favorite.
Both the Cahors and Figeac Post Offices have been renovated to the point that they are huge, open, and a little more difficult to maneuver. I had stayed close to home in Cajarc, but I bit the bullet in Figeac the other day and was glad I did. Standing around looking like a lost dummy paid off.
This very young, tall, dark, and handsome post person with those eyelashes to die for; came out and "Madamed" me. I asked if I could get stamps and in no time, he was back behind the counter. I told him of my love of French stamps and how all my friends and family in the states love them too. "Do you have any pretty stamps for the US?" Et, voila. Look at those Paris beauties. I still wanted 10 of my usuals and planned to use the Paris one as the extras. He explained that both are good to the states. I explained that I knew, but "Je suis une peu bizarre et folle." (I am a little bizarre and crazy!) He smiled and those beautiful eyes sparkled, as I walked out the door.
You can bet there'll be more trips to the Figeac post office in my future. Maybe it's time for me to re-order some of these beautiful French stamps with my favorite photo on them, that Jane gave me for my birthday one year! Hmmm, another item to add to my list!
