After an unsuccessful attempt to get into the Pompidou (back pack related), I surrendered to the need for something a little more nourishing than cappuccinos, pain au chocolats and beer. The storm clouds were forming, and since I'd already made up my mind that the Creperie Beaubourg was my first choice for my meal; I headed over there and scooped a table near the door under the awning. Actually, all of their tables are covered. Rain or shine, you can enjoy your dinner and/or desert crepes.
Arriving around 4, the rains came shortly thereafter. All it meant for me was a leisurely late lunch, an opportunity for a desert crepe, and yes...you do see a Heineken on that table. The chicken, mushroom, cheese dinner crepe came with a salad. I then opted for a "Gwendy" dessert crepe-caramel with sea salt and added Chantilly for good measure.
The rain stopped. I headed on to my next stop, but there is another reason I chose the Creperie Beaubourg besides the food and it's location close to the Pompidou. More on that another time.
