It's no secret that I'm an overalls lover. I've been celebrating overalls all over the world since International Overalls Day kicked off in 2009, and then grew into International Overalls Weekend.
Last year's celebration was special for many reasons: Niels and Bodil were in New Orleans from Denmark; I celebrated ongoing and long lasting friendships; I reconnected with friends from my past in New Orleans; I made new friends; and, I had my first big party on Columbus Street since Katrina.
Being in Ferguson this fall, I wasn't sure how International Overalls Weekend would unfold. I did manage to schedule workshops in New Orleans and will be in New Orleans over International Overalls weekend. Talking with Mike about the November plans, he suggested that we celebrate International Overalls weekend at their place and expand it to include naming of the ancient oaks at Mike and John's home: Mahogany Oaks. Et voila! We will be celebrating Always Overalls and Ancient Oaks in Covington this year. Huge Merci to Mike and John-What will you be doing to celebrate International Overalls Day this year?
