Being home feels so good, but it is also bittersweet. After coffee at Rose Nicaud with Russ and Angela, Barbara and I took a wander through the French Market and back down Decatur Street before we headed back to the car. Holiday remnants are everywhere; magnifying those feelings of dangling and being suspended in between somewheres. That seems to be my life.
Even so, there are the signs that life has been going on in New Orleans. Returning these days, makes me happy and feels like home again. I can blend right back in to my friends' routines from time to time. Teaching begins again on Tuesday. Mardi Gras commitments are being made for the upcoming season. I am easing back into the flow that is my life in New Orleans. But, as good as it feels to be back; is as distracted as I am with Dad's surgery looming tomorrow.
So, I: keep moving; make my lists; keep my cell phone with me; and, hope for the best. It's a rainy Sunday in New Orleans. Happy Sunday to All!
