Mother's Day...
...is almost here. Fortunately, I got an early start and made my card for Mom this year. Paris is always special for us. During 1996, she and I spent a week together in Paris. So, if you take the Eiffel Tower and pull that gold ribbon...you will find the rock girls together in the country at Nannie and Papa's in House Springs, MO. Don't forget Mom on Mother's Day.

A Measure of Success
On my bike ride over to Stew and Eric's to deliver the remainder of my Sunday deviled eggs; I realized that I'd made three batches of deviled eggs in a 5 day period last week! It could be a measure of JazzFest fun, it could be a measure of the number of parites, or...
...it could be a measure of the love I have for my friends!

Screaming Trumpets
It's a tough time on Columbus Street for many in my backyard, but it's toughest for the trumpets! The buck mouth caterpillars are having their way with them. I went out over the weekend and pulled off all of the swiss cheese leaves that left just the tops. I know it happens every season, but this year seems particularly bad. They hang around a while and pillage the garden and then they go. I know I'll still have beautiful flowers and the leaves will come back as we get into summer. Who would think such a cute little guy could do so much damage...and, painfully sting if touched!
I'll be waiting for the pink!

Carrying Eggs
Carrying deviled eggs to parties on your bike can be a challenge. I've since discovered that empty sushi containers can work very well for protecting your treasures. I just load them up, put them in a plastic trash bag, tie them together tightly, and put them in the bottom of the largest compartment of my backpack along with my favorite deviled egg plate. Et voila!

Giving Credit...
...where credit is due is important.
As you can see, my friend Eric and I are not out of the "selfie" loop; but it's still fun to have someone else take your picture from time to time.
Eric always does a great job for me. In addition to many many shots of me and me with a new friend last night, he took these shots of the gorgeous tulips on our table.
I was unusually "camera-less" last night, so I'd asked him to take these for me. What a treat! (This is when I think there could be an iphone in my future.)
Thanks to Eric, for satisfying that urge for me and for all the great shots he scooped for us last night.
